Of Michigan (CRAM), has stepped up to become a major sponsor of the event. CRAM is one of the largest Clubs in the region, supporting all brands of beach catamarans. F17 Sailors arriving by Friday will gather at one of the motorhome sites for welcome party. (Probability Batachelor's Motorhome) Look for it near the pavilion between the parking lot and the campground.
Saturday evening is the Luau, a true Hawaiian theme party with all the trimmings that is one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the Great Lakes sailing season! Look forward to grilled chicken, pork and pineapple and a wide variety of side dishes and desserts that makes your mouth water just thinking about them. Prior to dinner, many partake of delicious fruit drinks and sushi. Caseville is located on Lake Huron along the southern edge of Saginaw Bay at the mouth of the Pigeon River in Michigan's Upper Thumb and is famous for its incredible fishing and boating. Beautiful sandy beaches, a marina facility, quaint shops, restaurants and motels make Caseville a favorite for residents and vacationers alike. There are two village parks in Caseville with tennis courts, horseshoe pits, playground equipment, a baseball field and restroom facilities. Caseville's County Park (regatta location) and Sleeper State Park both offer full camping facilities. Other activities in the community include go-carts, giant slide and putt-putt golf. MAP The link shows the campgrounds and beach area which is where the regatta will be held. Click on the Hybrid view to see the roads labeled. Pull into the beach park (County Road) off of M-25 and park your boat trailer along the sidewalk at the northeast end of the parking lot. From here it is easy to get the boat off the trailer and assemble it. Beach wheels are especially helpful in getting the boat to the waterfront and the northeast end of the beach is reserved for the boats. Don’t leave your boat southwest of the markers for the swim area. If you are camping, leave the boat at the beach before you go to the campground since there is no driveway access to the beach from the campgrounds, just foot traffic. You enter the campgrounds on State Street off of M-25. Beach access by vehicles closes at 10 PM each night, so if you are arriving after that time, take your boat with you to where you will be staying. The beach (many call this “Bikini Beach”) is legendary for great sun and swim activities and the water is shallow for quite a ways off shore. Kids and adults alike enjoy playing in the waters of Lake Huron without suffering the cold waters often experienced in other parts of this Great Lake. Once at the campgrounds or beach you are a short walk from downtown Caseville. Browsing through the quaint shops is a favorite pastime for those who come to the regattas but aren’t on the water. Just across M-25 from the campground is the ice cream shop, a most popular destination for regatta attendees and campers. Food is available from a variety of restaurants and most are a short walk from the park. Make sure you are back at the beach by sunset for what is often the most spectacular sunsets of the summer, the sun disappearing over Charity Island in the middle of Saginaw Bay. Event Information:
